Property Management Systems
Property management systems (PMS) are used in a variety of industries, from manufacturing to logistics. They are computer systems that facilitate the management of property, personal property, equipment, including maintenance, legal issues and personnel all through a single piece of software, replacing inefficient paper-based methods.
Most property management systems use web and cloud technology and are offered to clients as a software-as-a-service model, where software is licensed on a subscription basis but hosted by the vendor.
In the events and hospitality industry, a property management system can be used to cover tasks such as coordinating the operational functions of various teams or centralising functions like guest bookings, maintaining a database of guest details, sales and marketing activity, food and beverage costing, and using social media effectively.
