Religious Venues in Manchester

Church halls, chapels, cloisters or chapter houses offer atmospheric space for meetings, receptions and events or varying sizes. These are beautiful venues of historical significance, which often date back to medieval or Victorian times.

Stained glass windows and gothic architecture certainly create an impressive backdrop. But what many event planners don’t realize is that the majority of churches have undergone renovation in re-cent years to install modern technical facilities. It allows them to now offer flexible, high-tech meeting rooms for training courses, seminars, talks and a whole host of other event activity.

Churches may often be associated with weddings, clubs and support group meetings but actually rely heavily on the more lucrative revenue that corporate hire brings. It makes them excellent value for money and can often be hired on an hourly, as well as a half-day or full-day basis, with dis-counted rates sometimes offered to congregation members.

When hiring a church for an evening event, it’s usual to use the building during the day for rehearsals or set-up. This greater flexibility gives these venues an advantage over galleries and museums, which can only grant access to your event management team once the public has departed.

Churches, of course offer excellent acoustics for performances, award ceremonies and concerts but their architecture also provides an incredible blank canvas, on which to project lighting and visuals. A good lighting and sound supplier will know how to achieve the best results in these historical buildings and ensure that your event is heaven sent.
