Valencia is located on Spain's eastern Mediterranean coast, on the Gulf of Valencia at the mouth of the Turia river. Throughout history, Valencia was one of the most important sea ports of the Iberian peninsula and was founded by the Romans in 138 BC. Valencia´s main attractions are to be found in its cultural wealth, a sound infrastructure for business, a network of accommodation situated on clean beaches, its range of nature reserves and its varied calendar of fiestas and rich gastronomy.
