Hotel Renovation update

Published: 13 Feb 2019

All six event rooms of the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel have been completely refurbished, creating almost 7,000sqm venue space with 20 breakout rooms.

The largest meeting room, called the Kings Suite offers one of Bristol’s largest event spaces with room for 350 guests.

The Miller & Carter Steakhouse opened its flagship restaurant inside the hotel in December 2018, offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner as well as an extensive bar list.

Famous guests since the hotel first opened in 1868 include Queen Victoria, Charlie Chaplin, Cary Grant, Gracie Fields, Mickey Rooney, Winston Churchill and Laurel and Hardy to name just a few.

The heart of the hotel, the iconic ‘Palm Court’ known as the place to be seen when it first opened in 1868, has been elevated whilst keeping with its original style – Grade II listed architecture and a stain glass roof.

Niten Sobti, general manager at the Bristol Marriott Royal, said: "We hope our guests have a unique experience as they walk through the doors by enjoying its rich history but with the premium modern hotel touch.

"It is only right to give a hotel of this stature the kind of restoration it deserves in order to elevate its position as a premium hotel in the city
."

The hotel has a fitness centre with an indoor pool, gym sauna and day spa.
