Enjoy your summer event with us at Friends House!

Published: 13 Jul 2018

Summer has arrived! And although the work must go on, your event can still make the most of the weather. Our team has come up with a few ideas to add a little sunshine to your summer event at Friends House. Whether it’s finding the perfect space or keeping your delegates cool, we’ve got you covered.

A summer event calls for refreshing drinks

During the summer months, it’s important to keep cool and hydrated – especially when you’re at a conference or event. Our lunches are all served with fruit juice supplied by Chegworth Valley, but why not talk to our events team about adding homemade iced tea instead.

Our café offers a wide range of revitalising drinks, and if you need a pick-me-up, you can try one of our delicious iced coffees or a Fairtrade soft drink. Our coffee is triple certified – organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance.

Bring your event outside

The seasonal weather means you can take advantage of our outside space during your breaks. Relax on one of our balconies overlooking the courtyard or laze around on the grass in our reception garden. Did you know that when you book one of our rooms, you can also book our open-air courtyard to make the most of your event? You can hire a mocktail bar so your delegates can enjoy some alcohol-free refreshment in the sun between meetings or at the end of the day. Contact our events team to find out more: events@quaker.org.uk or 020 7663 1100.

Enjoy some daylight at your summer event

Natural light has been proven to have a positive impact on people’s attention span. Luckily all of our meeting rooms and event spaces have natural light. Our auditorium, The Light, features a large skylight which floods the 200m2 room with natural light.

Summer events need seasonal snacks

Nothing says summer like an ice cream or ice lolly – this summer you can request them for your event. We cater for a variety of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free, so no one misses out on seasonal treats.

Our catering team creates seasonal menus, using the freshest ingredients. All food is organic, fairly traded and locally sourced wherever possible.
