Four new hotels to watch out for in the year ahead.....

Principal London

The 334-room Principal London will open in the first quarter of 2018, transforming the former Grade II-listed Hotel Russell in Bloomsbury, which dates back to 1898.
Striking interior designs will pay homage to the building’s illustrious history and a variety of spaces for dining and events are expected. At the heart of the hotel will be the restored Palm Court, which will sit alongside the Principal Lon-don’s grand listed ballroom as a key feature.

The Avon Gorge Hotel

Boutique hotel group Malmaison Hotel du Vin has revealed that the Bristol’s Avon Gorge Hotel is set to be unveiled as The Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin from spring 2018.

A major investment programme is currently underway to restore the historic property to its former glory, with the first stage, including the newly styled bedrooms, now complete.
With plans to officially launch The Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin in spring 2018, the group has ap-pointed Josie Simcox as general manager.

This historic hotel offers unparalleled views of Brunel’s Grade I-listed Clifton Suspension Bridge and can cater for meetings, training courses and conferences for up to 100 delegates.
The hotel also has four private dining rooms for between 10 and 80 guests.

The Dixon Hotel

Dominvs Group has unveiled plans for The Dixon, a boutique style hotel under construction near Tower Bridge in London and part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.
Opening in autumn 2018, The four-star 193-room Dixon will feature nine suites, a restaurant and conference facilities.

Design details include simple brickwork, large windows and modern furniture from British design-ers alongside more classic pieces and curated artworks from local artists.
All rooms will feature abundant natural light with state-of- the-art technology, including smart TVs and complimentary ultra-fast Wi-Fi.

Bankside Hotel

Bankside will open in September 2018 on the south bank of the River Thames, just minutes from the City and close to landmarks including Tate Modern, the National Theatre, and Borough Market. The property blends 161 rooms and suites with ‘white cube’ spaces for meetings and events, co-working areas and a relaxed neighbourhood-style restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace. The six-storey glass building that houses Bankside is part of the One Blackfriars development from architect Ian Simpson.
