Destination Champion

What is a Destination Champion?

We believe that the best way to add value to our clients is to understand their requirements and recommend destinations and venues based on our own personal knowledge. We are curious and want to see what’s new and we aim to visit our key destinations a least once a year and review over 15 venues in each location.

Paris

Paris is a fantastic destination for International events as it offers excellent access and infrastructure. The city has a large variety of venues including hotels, convention centres and historic buildings to suit many different event types.

Why I would recommend Paris

Paris is easily accessible from many international destinations but particularly the UK as the Eurostar from London St Pancras connects the two cities within a few of hours. Paris offers something for everyone and gives the opportunity to add something extraordinary to an event like a river cruise or dinner in one of the many historic buildings.

Key Attractions

There are so many world famous attractions and landmarks in Paris including the Eiffel Tower, Arc du Triomphe, Notre Dame, the Champs Elysees and the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa. Paris is famous for fashion but it would be advisable not to try and host events during Paris Fashion week as availability will be very difficult.

Infrastructure and Transport

Paris has two airports – Charles du Gauille (approx.14 miles north of Paris) and Orly (approx. 8 miles south of the city). The main train station of which the Eurostar arrives into is the Gare du Nord. Paris also has a Metro system which has 300 stations and 16 lines, making it very easy to get around Paris. You can buy tickets per journey but is cheaper to buy multiple tickets if travelling a lot as this will work out cheaper. As with any big city, pick pockets do operate in stations and at busy tourist attractions, so it is recommended to be careful with closing handbags and keeping personal documents in a safe zipped pocket and separate from hotel room keys.

Excursions

One of the biggest attractions is Disneyland Paris which is only 35 minutes away from Paris city centre and offers a large theme park as well as event space The royal Palace of Versaille is situated approximately 14 miles away from the city centre and includes the gardens and Marie Antoinette’s estate. Within an hours’ train journey from Paris, you can get to the Burgundy and Champagne regions and take a tour round the vineyards and maybe try a few samples!
