Exceptional Dining for Unforgettable Events at Hever Castle

Published: 24 Feb 2026

Set in the Kent countryside near Edenbridge, Hever Castle offers a distinctive setting for corporate gatherings, celebrations and private events. Best known as the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, the second wife of King Henry VIII, the castle dates back to the 14th century and combines Tudor heritage with beautifully maintained gardens and contemporary event facilities. Today, it provides a memorable backdrop for company offsites, gala dinners, summer parties and team-building experiences — all underpinned by exceptional dining.

A Historic Setting with Modern Flexibility

Hever Castle presents a varied collection of venue spaces, each suited to different styles and scales of events.

The Astor Wing is a Tudor-inspired extension, created in the early 20th century by William Waldorf Astor when he restored the castle. Available for exclusive hire, it offers panelled meeting rooms, breakout areas and an elegant dining room suitable for lunches and evening dinners. A private outdoor terrace provides space for fresh air, informal networking or even a traditional game of croquet on the lawns. Events hosted in the Astor Wing can be extended into the historic Castle itself, with the option to dine in the magnificent Great Hall — an atmospheric space steeped in history.

For larger gatherings, The Guthrie Pavilion provides a contemporary contrast to the castle’s heritage architecture. Located within the Italian Garden, it offers excellent access to the activities field and lake. The Pavilion can accommodate up to 150 delegates for day meetings and up to 200 guests for lunches and dinners, making it well suited to conferences, award ceremonies and larger-scale corporate events.

The Winter Garden Lawn delivers spectacular Castle views and the flexibility to host marquee, stretch tent or tipi-style events for up to 300 guests. Ideal for alfresco dining, summer celebrations and company festivals, the space allows organisers to create a fully bespoke event layout in one of Kent’s most scenic settings.

For drinks receptions and entertainment, The Loggia offers an impressive Italian-inspired lakeside setting within the gardens. Overlooking the water, it provides a refined backdrop for arrival receptions, networking drinks or evening entertainment as the sun sets across the estate.

Luxury Accommodation On Site

Complementing its event spaces, Hever Castle offers 26 five-star luxury bedrooms within the Astor Wing and Anne Boleyn Wing. The accommodation allows multi-day conferences, residential offsites and leadership retreats to take place seamlessly, without guests needing to travel off-site. Bedrooms are individually styled, blending period character with modern comfort, and offer views across the grounds.

Exceptional Dining at the Heart of Every Event

At Hever Castle, dining is not an afterthought — it is central to the experience.

Menus are overseen by Culinary Director George Blogg, who brings extensive expertise to the role. A Michelin-starred chef for ten years and a recipient of a Master of Culinary Arts from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, George is known for his commitment to seasonal produce, locally sourced ingredients and refined, elegant flavours.

From working lunches and conference dining to formal gala dinners and celebratory banquets, menus are designed to reflect both the season and the tone of the event. The culinary team focuses on delivering a polished and memorable dining experience from start to finish, ensuring that food enhances the overall atmosphere — whether guests are enjoying a relaxed summer barbecue on the lawn or a candlelit dinner in the Great Hall.

Activities to Enrich Your Event

Beyond the meeting room, Hever Castle offers a wide range of activity opportunities designed to energise and engage guests.

Teams can take part in treasure hunts on the lake, quad safari experiences in the woodland, archery and laser clays. For a more restorative focus, forest bathing sessions and yoga can be arranged within the estate’s landscaped grounds. Local wine tasting experiences provide an opportunity to showcase Kent’s growing reputation as a wine-producing region.

For golf enthusiasts, the estate is also home to a championship 27-hole golf course, which can be incorporated into event programmes for client entertainment, team-building or informal networking.

A Venue for 2026 and Beyond

With its blend of Tudor heritage, landscaped gardens, contemporary event facilities and refined dining, Hever Castle offers a distinctive environment for bringing people together away from the office or home working.

Whether planning a company offsite, summer party, activity day, gala dinner or celebration, the estate’s experienced event planners work closely with organisers to tailor packages to individual requirements. Package details are available, and bespoke quotations can be created to suit specific objectives, guest numbers and budgets.

For organisations seeking a venue that combines history, flexibility and exceptional cuisine, Hever Castle provides a setting designed to leave a lasting impression — not just for the event itself, but for every guest who attends.
