Recently, the Camden venue welcomed 415 comics and writers including Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope, Mo Gilligan and Rosie Jones for the National Comedy Awards, raising money for Stand Up to Cancer.
The ceremony was hosted by Tom Allen and broadcast live on Channel 4, fundraising through live donations. The star-studded event was attended by the country’s top comics from the worlds of stand up, comedy entertainment, acting, writing and podcasts. Voted for beforehand by the public, this year’s winners included Taskmaster, Katherine Ryan, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Ricky Gervais, Lee Mack and Chris and Rosie Ramsay.
Head of events at Roundhouse Rhiân Pressley said, “we’re thrilled that Hungry Bear Media, Channel 4 and Stand Up to Cancer chose us once more. It was another incredible show and congratulations to all the winners.”
Accredited caterer Moving Venue served canapes including Fish and Chip: triple cooked potato with smoked cod roe and vinegar salt, Chicken Kyiv bon bons with roasted garlic mayo and chicken crackling, Truffle Toast with portobello mushroom, thyme mousse and pickled shimeji plus Asian Beef Carpaccio with pickled ginger, crispy rice and shiso.
Following drinks and canapes over 300 members of the public congregated on the balcony for the show having applied through SRO Audiences.
Delta Live and Anna Valley supplied the AV and rigging was supplied by Blackout. Lighting was supported by LED Creative.
