Gliterring Green Weddings with Elite Hotels

Published: 04 Aug 2022

According to The Green Bride Guide, the average wedding produces 400lbs of rubbish and some 63 tons of carbon dioxide, in just one day. With an estimated 275,000 weddings annually in the UK, that's an awful lot of waste...

There is a definite increase in couples seeking venues that offer a greener wedding venue. Elite Hotels are developing a green wedding package, using suppliers (such as caterers, florists with dried/preserved flowers, and using flowering plants/ivy in pots, a "green" photographer, etc) within a 15 mile radius, including an electric car, carbon offsetting travel, reducing the carbon footprint by donating food to a homeless charity, plants to care homes, etc.

Launching the Green Wedding option, we will invite wedding journalists, lifestyle press and notable influencers to visit Ashdown Park to view a green wedding set-up/package, available for both smaller and larger weddings, to generate innovative wedding content to boost awareness and bookings. Target media would include wedding journalists, lifestyle press and notable influencers who focus on sustainability (e.g. Confetti.co.uk) who frequently cover weddings and green venue-based content, to visit Ashdown Park and sample a dream 'Green Wedding Breakfast'. We could also handpick one or two celebrities who are currently engaged to be married, and in a wedding 'mindset', to visit for a staycation.
