The Assembly Rooms win Business Event Venue of the Year

Published: 07 Feb 2020

The Assembly Rooms has won Gold in the Business Event Venue of the Year category at the 2020 South West Tourism Excellence Awards. The Roman Baths also picked up three Gold awards: Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, International Tourism, and Accessible and Inclusive Tourism.

The awards were announced Thursday 6 February 2020 at Exeter Cathedral. The South West Tourism Excellence Awards recognise the ongoing quality development of tourism businesses in the region. Judging is carried out by an independent panel of past winners, industry leaders and experts. The judges consider written application forms, websites, social media and online reviews, and some finalists also receive a ‘mystery shopping’ visit.

The Assembly Rooms and Roman Baths will now go through to represent the region in the national VisitEngland Awards, which will be announced in June.
