Transformation Announcement

Published: 03 Feb 2020

We are pleased to announce that our hotel name has changed to DoubleTree by Hilton Angel Kings Cross. This is following an extensive £6 Million bedroom and conference space refurbishment.

The new design includes elegant and modern finishes, intimate lounge seating, Regents Canal themed artwork, elegant TV unit and comfortable desk area, bedside USB ports and the infamous Sweet Dreams beds.

Included in this exciting transformation is an extension of 8 standard bedrooms, 2 Junior suites and a one-bedroom suite. Following the investment, the hotel will consist of 381 bedrooms, a mix of standards, deluxe, executive level as well as suites.

Bathrooms are beautifully appointed with great lighting, heated and illuminated make-up and vanity mirrors as well as easy to use handheld and rain showers.

We have also launched the very first “Five Feet to Fitness” room in EMEA. This is a guest room dedicated to movement and mindfulness, allows you to work out in the comfort of your own room, whenever it suits your schedule. Yoga, Cycling, TRX suspension training, strength conditioning, therapeutic stretching, High Intensity Interval Training, it's all at your fingertips, literally. A digital touchscreen kiosk monitor serves as a guide through equipment tutorial and exclusive Hilton workout content.

There is a total of 6 new meeting rooms with natural daylight, ready to accommodate from 10 to 120 guests and equipped with modern Audio-Visual equipment and fast speed internet.

The executive lounge for our executive room guests and Diamond members will also be re-located to the Lobby side of the hotel for added comfort. The reception, bar and restaurant area will also be refurbished in line with the new look bedrooms.

The hotel has also invested heavily in a new state of the art Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring the Hilton standard of “stay-connected”, with increased bandwidth throughout as well great service reliability. Each guest can securely access 30mb download per device as a minimum standard.

The Hotel invested £13.5m just before it launched as the DoubleTree by Hilton Islington in August 2014, so this additional investment of over £6M is a further commitment from Amaris Hospitality and our owners of becoming best in brand and leading the market in hospitality.

The hotel’s location between Angel and Kings cross St Pancras is ideal for both business and leisure travellers. Angel attracts business from the Old Street, Silicone Roundabout region as well as the City & Clerkenwell. It also has a new Cross rail 2 station proposed for 2030. Kings Cross St Pancras is one of the biggest transport hubs in London which accommodates Eurostar and High-Speed rail 1 (HS1) with 31.3M travellers annually. Both stations are a short walking distance from the hotel, Angel less than 5 minutes and Kings Cross St Pancras less than 15 minutes.

The Hotel recently was awarded the “Teaching Kids to CARE” award from Hilton EMEA due to the work it does in conjunction with Voluntary Action Islington, Centre404 and work experience partnerships with local schools, something the hotel team are extremely proud of and are determined to develop community relationships further.
