Give your event wings with MK-7

Published: 18 May 2019

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s new events space will open its doors to organisers next month. Mike Fletcher gets the lowdown on the F1-inspired venue.

The Red Bull Racing Factory in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire has seen its team win four Drivers’ Championships and four Constructors’ Championships since it joined the Formula One ranks in 2005. Red Bull Racing’s drivers have secured 59 race victories, set 61 fastest laps, and found themselves on the grid in pole position 60 times from 270 starts.

The factory has always been the beating heart of the team, with 800 full-time staff producing the cars that have resulted in 160 podium finishes.

In June, Red Bull Racing will unveil MK-7, a new meetings and events venue based at the factory headquarters.

MK-7 will offer organisers unique access to the world of a championship-winning F1 team, plus the chance to immerse delegates in the engineering prowess, winning innovation, premium hospitality and glamour of Formula One.

The spaces at MK-7 have been created with the organisers’ needs in mind and can be booked exclusively or as part of a factory tour package.

The largest space is the Museum Area, which features Red Bull Racing’s complete Championship-winning car collection. With a state-of-the-art AV wall, this attention-grabbing display area can host up to 170 for dinner or 450 for a drinks reception.

MK-7 also has a 20-capacity boardroom (pictured above), flanked by an entire wall of glass, providing views of the car collection. However, if the surroundings are just too much of a distraction, the boardroom’s glass wall can be dimmed for both discretion and focus.

Within the room, high-end facilities include two large presentation screens with Clickshare and HDMI connectors, together with ceiling-integrated speakers and video conferencing capabilities. Climate controls and subtle lighting features provide additional comfort.

Two smaller meeting rooms are located either side of the boardroom for groups of up to eight guests. While the MK-7 Mezzanine provides a raised area where delegates can relax between sessions and is ideal for lunch breakouts or receptions for up to 40 guests.

As part of the MK-7 events offer, organisers also have access to the factory’s Race Bay and Boardroom, plus the AT&T Operations Room, where during race weeks, factory-based engineers are in real-time contact with the trackside team to analyse data and provide engineering decision-making.

Outside of a Grand Prix week, the AT&T Operations Room is available for use as a 45-capacity auditorium. Guests are afforded a remarkable opportunity to visit a previously inaccessible side of F1 and be immersed in an environment that encompasses everything about teamwork and achieving the best results.

The Race Bay and Boardroom is where pit-stops are practiced and the cars are stripped, inspected and reassembled by the mechanics in preparation for a Grand Prix. The 40-capacity boardroom is encased in glass and equipped with a 65-inch presentation screen.

“This is an extremely exciting time for our team and we’re looking forward to inviting event planners to share in our vision,” says head of corporate events and hospitality for Red Bull Racing, Nick Kenton. “We want clients to be able to experience the world of F1 and Red Bull Racing first-hand and be inspired by our unique setting, as well as the winning mindset and enthusiasm that runs throughout our business.”

Red Bull Racing will introduce MK-7 at The Meetings Show, which takes place at London’s Olympia from 26-27 June. A branded show entrance reception will feature one of the F1 team’s race-winning cars and Kenton and his team will be on-hand to discuss event requirements.
