There's been some major announcements this week including a new brand for EEF Venues, a change of venue for International Confex and a makeover for Scotland's largest hotel event space.
EEF Venues becomes Make Venues
EEF Venues has unveiled the group’s new and contemporary brand, Make Venues.
The announcement follows the conclusion of the brand’s five-year growth strategy that has seen it grow its turnover by 45 per cent, and marks the beginning of a new strategy across its Woodland Grange, Engineers’ House and Broadway House venues.
Make Venues reflects the rebrand of its parent organisation EEF to Make UK and is reflective of the style, performance focus and achievements of EEF Venues. The new direction has been led by managing director, David Vaughton (pictured), and underlines the growing ambition of the award-winning business.
“We are excited to share our dynamic new brand with the meetings and events industry. It captures the essence of our business and its many achievements, but also where we are today; one of the most respected venue brands working in the industry,” commented Vaughton.
International Confex moves to ExCeL from 2020
Mash Media managing director Julian Agostini has announced that the company’s premier exhibitions, International Confex, Event Production Show and PA Show, will move to ExCeL London in 2020.
Mash Media has been considering a number of options to further develop and enhance the events that have run at Olympia since 2013 and felt that the facilities and surroundings at ExCeL London would provide the best opportunity to realise the growing ambitions of each of the events, the combination of which delivers the largest gathering of event professionals annually in the UK.
The move to ExCeL London will also provide the backdrop for the development of UK Events Week, which will bring a dedicated focus for the UK’s meetings, events & exhibition industries which are worth an estimated £43bn annually to the UK economy.
Liz Agostini, event director, International Confex commented: “We thank the team at Olympia for their support since we brought International Confex into the Mash Media Group back in 2013 but we felt that the opportunity to bring our events to the world-class facility that is ExCeL London would provide the best platform to develop all three events individually and in to something bigger and, excitingly, more representative of the UK’s creative abilities across the sectors they serve”.
International Confex, Event Production Show and PA Show will take place from 25-26 February 2020.
Fairmont St Andrews reveals March makeover
Scotland’s largest hotel event space is undergoing a complete refurbishment as part of Fairmont St Andrews’ continuing multi-million-pound investment.
With 3,000sqm of event space including the Ballroom and 14 meeting and event rooms being fully renovated, in addition to the recently upgraded Atrium, this will see the final element of the refurbishment of all public areas at Fairmont St Andrews completed by mid-March 2019.
John Keating, Fairmont St Andrews general manager said: “The stylistic changes to our event space draws on the fresh colour palette of the surrounding countryside with coppers, greens and blues all reflective of our famed position sitting on the peninsula overlooking the historical and beautiful town of St Andrews. Myself and my team look forward to welcoming local, national and international businesses and groups wishing to hold events of all shapes and sizes in our stunning new event space from March. We are proud to offer what we believe to be the premier conference and event venue in Scotland.”
