The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne has been named the Best Hotel in the South, at the regional Best Loved Awards 2018/19.
The five-star seafront hotel was awarded the prestigious reader-voted accolade on 4 October, after Best Loved Hotels customers were invited to nominate hotels where they had stayed and experienced ‘best in class’ stays.
The Grand will now go on to represent the south at the national Best Loved Awards, competing for the overall Best Hotel of the Year Award, with a ceremony in November announcing the winner.
This success for The Grand comes hot on the heels of one of the hotel’s star members of staff being shortlisted for a national restaurant manager award.
Benjamin Warren, manager of The Grand’s two AA Rosette Mirabelle Restaurant, has been shortlisted for the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards, which take place on 16 October.
Jonathan Webley, general manager of The Grand, said: “I am absolutely delighted that The Grand has been named Best Hotel in the South, and it means even more that the nominations came from guests who have stayed here and had a fantastic experience. I am also thrilled for Benjamin, who is one of our most dedicated and hard-working team members, as well as being incredibly popular with regular diners at The Mirabelle. The whole team here will be keeping our fingers crossed for him at the upcoming awards.”
