Five festive party nights in the capital

Published: 21 Aug 2018

Christmas in the capital has much to offer this year. Here’s five themed options to consider.

Great Gatsby cast teams up with Taj Hotels

Taj Hotels has teamed up with the creators of the immersive West-end theatre show, The Great Gatsby, to bring the roaring twenties to St James’ Court London this Christmas.

The Great Gatsby Experience invites guests into an era of bootleg liquor, red-hot jazz and hedonistic pleasures, re-enacted by the cast from the show.

The package starts at £104 per person and includes a three-course seated dinner, dance-floor and DJ.

Las Vegas to arrive at the Brewery

The Brewery is channeling Sixties Las Vegas this season as its Golden Palms Lounge and Casino arrives at the London venue.

The themed package, for between 40 and 1,000 guests, will transport party-goers back to the hay-day of Sin City. It includes entertainment on arrival, a 45-minute cocktail reception, three-course meal or buffet, plus live band and after-dinner DJ.

Simon Lockwood, creative director at The Brewery said: “We pride ourselves on designing and creating a bespoke story for each festive celebration and we’re delighted to be bringing the electric atmosphere of Las Vegas to the Capital this winter.”

Prices start at £125pp, with exclusive and shared hire available.

All aboard the Dixie Queen with Best Parties Ever

Best Parties Ever has joined up with Thames Luxury Charters to offer a festive experience onboard the Dixie Queen Paddle Steamer this December.

Staged across two nights, (13th and 20th December), the mixed group parties offer an exclusive experience for guests of groups of six or more.

The Dixie Queen is the largest Paddle Steamer on the River Thames. The five-hour charter takes guests on a tour up through Greenwich before returning at midnight and re-embarking at Butlers Wharf.

The package costs £109 (+VAT) per person and commences with a drinks reception underneath Tower Bridge. Beers, wines and soft drinks will be served while a live band will play, followed by a DJ and disco on the upper deck.

Hellenic Centre opts for Lion, Witch and Wardrobe theme

Awesome Events is inviting Christmas party groups to go ‘Through the Wardrobe’ at the Hellenic Centre in Marylebone.

Inspired by Lewis Carroll's classic novel, parties will begin with a sparkling welcome reception on the Manor House balcony, before guests head downstairs, through the wardrobe and into the Ice Palace dining hall.

Tobacco Dock to reopen rooftop ice-rink

November to January will see the return of Skylight at Tobacco Dock, a rooftop ice rink that’s perfect for office festive celebrations.

Not only can guests ice skate here, but groups can also partake in an ice-hockey slap-shot challenge. Food and drink will keep in with the wintery theme, with fondue, street food and mulled wine.

Planners can hire the whole rooftop for up to 300 people, or reserve a heated area for a minimum of 50.
