venue description
Founded in 1826 and a short walk from Camden Town or Regent’s Park underground stations, ZSL London Zoo’s stylish suites, contemporary meeting rooms and private outdoor spaces look out onto exotic animals within 36 acres of zoological gardens.
The Prince Albert Suite with its tranquil lawn and private terrace is our largest indoor entertaining space, accommodating up to 260 in a banqueting style or 300 for a reception or in theatre style. Regally decorated with a neutral palette of greens, creams and whites, this suite boasts its own A.V. equipment, fixed bar, dance floor, masses of natural daylight, wall to wall windows and traditionally high ceiling. Views of the Zoo’s Barclay Court and the hugely popular Penguin Beach can be seen to the south and to the west the suite overlooks Gorilla Kingdom and the suites own fairly lit terrace area.
The beautiful Grade II listed Mappin Pavilion is an elegant, bright entertaining space for up to 80 seated guests. Boasting floor to ceiling windows, white pillars and wooden floors it is perfect for both conferences and presentations or seasonal parties and weddings alike. Overlooking wallabies and emus in their homely Australian Outback with the rear providing stunning views of Regent’s Park this versatile space is located in the heart of the zoo.
The Raffles Suite with a private bar and summer outdoors seating offers a contemporary alternative ideal for summer parties or informal barbecues for up to 150 guests.
ZSL London Zoo’s main reception also acts as a corporate business centre, offering air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and modern AV facilities. Here you can find a tiered lecture theatre with a private foyer and two contemporary meeting rooms The Bartlett Room and The Council Room.
An alternative to the traditional style of drinks reception comes in the form of our world famous animal houses for private evening hire. A variety of rainforest lookouts and animal kingdoms can hold up to 350 guests and these are ideal for networking and celebrating under a unique setting. A variety of 8 animal houses are available from our tropical bird house – The Blackburn Pavilion, The Komodo Dragon House or Rainforest Life, our tree top canopy walk through.
Finally, nothing can add more value like a live Animal Encounter! So whether it’s cleaning the pygmy hippo’s teeth, feeding the giraffes, or having Dana the lemur visit your event, we always aim to provide a fun and meaningful animal experience.
ZSL London Zoo holds a music license until midnight with the facility to apply for an extension until 2am. Disabled access is available to all of our meeting and event spaces. Parking is available for up to 250 cars which is free after the zoo closes – 11.30pm. A one hour complimentary zoo pass is available with all meeting and event space bookings.
By holding your event with us, you will be directly contributing to our global conservation projects helping critically endangered animals and their habitats, not to mention supporting our dedicated green initiatives.
