venue description
The Natural History Museum is one of the UK’s most iconic and versatile venues, inspiring the most compelling meetings and events in London. With four unique spaces available for meetings, drinks receptions, gala dinners and concerts, the Museum can cater for anything from 2 to 1500.
For a truly jaw-dropping event, the Museum's Central Hall is unrivalled. One of the largest and most versatile party spaces in London, the Central Hall, with its huge Diplodocus centrepiece and soaring arches, can cater for up to 600 dinner guests and 1500 reception. Equally impressive is the Museum’s Earth Hall, with its own private entrance, the futuristic space is perfect for cocktail receptions and seated dinners.
If you are planning a daytime conference, our lecture theatre may well be the perfect location. The purpose-built Flett Events Theatre has tiered seating for up to 209 guests and is equipped with sound system, lighting, video and projectors. The foyer area is ideal for registration, coffee breaks and stand-up buffet lunches. Delegates are welcome to explore the Museum’s galleries during opening hours free of charge.
In October 2009 the Natural History Museum added an additional events space to its offering in the form of the Darwin Centre. This significant £78 million development has created an eight storey cocoon-like structure with an additional 16,000 square metres of floor space. New for 2010, the Darwin Centre Courtyard offers a tranquil outdoor space in the heart of London, perfect for an early evening drinks reception.
