Royal Museums Greenwich is comprised of five unique venues in one great location, The Queen's House, the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory Greenwich, Flamsteed House, the Peter Harrison Planetarium and now Cutty Sark. Located within the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site in Greenwich, the five venues offer a variety of spaces perfect for conferences, product launches, meetings, drinks receptions, gala dinners, award ceremonies and weddings.
All five venues are located within zone 2, only 10 minutes away from central London however our extensive grounds overlooking Greenwich Royal Park seem to be a world away.
The Queen’s House, the first classical building in England was designed in 1616 by Inigo Jones. These elegant and historical surrounding are perfect for evening receptions, dinners and weddings. The Great Hall is a perfectly proportioned space for up to 120 guests dinning or 150 guests for a stand-up reception.
The Queen’s House Orangery and South Parlours are a suite of rooms situated on the south side of the house overlooking Greenwich Royal Park which provide stately surroundings for meetings of up to 50 guests. The South Lawns adjacent to the venue can also be used for team building activities and garden games.
The National Maritime Museum’s Neptune Court is our largest venue for banqueting and receptions with a capacity for up to a maximum of 1,000 guest under our spectacular glass domed roof. In conjunction with our newly opened ultra-modern Sammy Ofer Wing we can now accommodate up to 1,500 guests within the two co-joined spaces.
Located in the National Maritime Museum is the purpose built Leopold Muller Lecture Theatre with tiered seating for up to 130 guests. There are three break out rooms available and a foyer adjacent to the theatre situated under a raised propeller, which is a great space for registration and refreshments.
The Royal Observatory Greenwich, Flamsteed House, completed in 1675, is the home of time and the Prime Meridian line and is the ideal location to celebrate landmark occasions. Providing spectacular views over Greenwich Royal Park, Canary Wharf and the City of London. The Octagon Room is one of the last few surviving Sir Christopher Wren interiors and can accommodate up to a 150 guests for a stand up reception or up to 60 for a sit down dinner.
The Peter Harrison Planetarium, currently London’s only operating Planetarium, provides an exciting mix of historical architecture and contemporary infrastructure for product launches, album playbacks, presentations, receptions, dinners and even astronomical wedding receptions. The newly upgraded Planetarium Theatre can showcase your product on an unbeatable 360 degree domed screen. Evening venue hire includes one planetarium show featuring the simulated night sky presented live by one of our astronomers. Bespoke planetarium shows can be commissioned for experiential events.
Cutty Sark has been completely revitalised and promises to be an exciting and dramatic new venue for private events. Re-launched on the 26th April 2012 we will begin accepting bookings in the summer for events taking place from October 2012.
