Description
The National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan is one of the most important technical and scientific museums in the world. It was founded in 1947 and is made up of 3 seperate buildings, one of them was a former monastery dating back to the sixteenth century, the others are a rail transport building, and an air & sea transport building. There are twenty-eight sections in total, with displays ranging from information technology to astronomy. There are 40,000 square metres of displays, and a massive 15,000 pieces in its collection. In addition this museum has a special section on the Renaissance and its great men, among them Leonardo da Vinci. This museum also features a 46m submarine, the Toti which was built in 1967.
