venue description

Edinburgh Castle, in the heart of Scotland's capital city, is one of Scotland's most recognised and visited landmarks.
Historic Scotland, who manage the Castle, are proud to be able to offer the Castle for a range of daytime and evening events.
Situated at the entrance to the Castle, the Victorian Baronial style Gatehouse can accommodate daytime meetings or provide the perfect venue for a small evening reception or dinner. The main room has an adjoining anteroom, and there is also a balcony offering stunning views over the Castle esplanade.

The more contemporary style Jacobite Room offers an exquisite venue for dinners and receptions. Guests can enjoy drinks in the adjoining Redcoat room before going through to dinner in the Jacobite with its stunning views over the Scottish Capital. Both rooms can be used together for larger receptions.

The Queen Anne Room, located in Crown Square, has a more stately feel and again has a wonderful drinks reception space in the 18th Century covered courtyard. This room can be made available in the daytime by arrangement.

Large scale drinks receptions for up to 500 can also be accommodated. This gives guests exclusive use of the entire Castle and is the ideal opener to a conference in the city. We are always delighted to suggest entertainers such as pipers and costumed re-enactors to enhance your evening.

All guests to the Castle can enjoy a viewing of the Scottish Crown Jewels and Stone of Destiny, which makes a great pre-dinner or post meeting event. Our knowledgeable staff and expert on-site caterers are on hand to ensure your guests have a truly unforgettable evening at Scotland's most famous Castle.
