venue description

BMA House is a stunning Grade II listed building; home to the British Medical Association and centrally located in Tavistock Square, London.

This beautiful red brick building was designed in 1911 by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. The design is neo-classical Palladian and incorporates Portland Stone facades, grand archways, stone Corinthian columns and Westmorland slate roofs.

The building is centred on a courtyard with a memorial fountain. Furthermore, a private garden with a pond, housing physic plants with medicinal properties can be found to the rear of the building; and provides a tranquil outdoor space for events. The garden is also famous for being the grounds to the house of Charles Dickens where he is said to have written some of his most famous novels.

BMA House has recently undergone a major refurbishment to lovingly restore its rooms in keeping with their original design and Grade II listed heritage. Several rooms are licensed for wedding ceremonies and are also suitable to host an array of private events, corporate dinners, conferences and meetings.

Food and drink will be an all important part of your event and, as such, we have a dedicated on-site caterer to provide exquisite cuisine and fine wines to suit your needs. Our events team will work with you to plan a menu and accompanying wines, assist with entertainment and ensure your event is a great success.
