Venue Description
Once a Norman fortress the Castle at Taunton has been welcoming travellers since the 12th Century. Today it is one of the most highly acclaimed privately owned hotels in the West Country with an enviable array of awards including a Michelin Star, "Best Breakfast in Britain" (HGCA) and "Best out of Town" (Tatler Restaurant Awards 2002).
Situated in the heart of Taunton, Somerset's county town and yet just two miles from the M5 the Castle is easily accessible and offers free parking for a limited number of cars.
The Castle's 4 function rooms cater for a maximum of 100 delegates and are suitable for every occasion from Annual General Meetings to Directors' Private Dining.
The Penthouse is probably the most exciting setting for private entertaining in the South West. Located at the top of the Castle, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Quantock Hills on one side and the Blackdown Hills on the other.
This is the room to choose for parties of up to twelve. The accommodation includes a drawing room, dining room, cloakroom, a roof-top garden terrace and, of course, your own butler to take care of you and your guests.
The Monmouth Room, named after the ill-fated Duke of Monmouth, is the largest room. Here you can enjoy meetings for up to 100 delegates or invite up to sixty-nine close friends to join you in a dinner to remember!
Dining options include buffets and working lunches to award winning fine dining and the adjoining brasserie, BRAZZ, with its huge fish tank and fibre optic lit dome is perfect for a relaxed, fun environment and is also available for exclusive use.
Each of our 44 bedrooms is decorated in its own cosy, luxurious and individual style: all are of a similarly impeccable standard.
