Venue Description
The Merchant Taylors' Hall is renowned in the City for providing excellent service, surroundings and fine cuisine and wines.
Located between Threadneedle Street and Cornhill since 1347, the Hall is one of the Twelve Great City Livery Companies dating from medieval times. We are able to host a full range of events from luncheons, dinners, banquets, weddings and receptions to fashion shows and concerts in the most superb of settings.
The building which is steeped in heritage and overflowing with historical treasures and architecture has 7 rooms catering from 10 up to 600 guests and the whole venue can be booked exclusively if required.
The Great Hall, our largest room, has mahogany panelling and stained glass windows and houses a Renatus Harris Organ on the balcony. The Hall comes with the Cloisters reception area. It can be booked for banquets for up to 320, or presentations for up to 400 guests.
The Drawing Room is a very pretty room for receptions and has 19th Century Chinese hand-painted wallpaper and Waterford Chandeliers. Other rooms include the Library which contains the Company's book collection and the Great Parlour, originally built in 1681. Both are suitable for meetings, dinners and receptions.
Catering in the form of a fine range of traditional and international cuisine prepared by an experienced team of chefs, is provided from the Great Kitchen which has been in continual use (although substantially modernised) since 1425.
The function rooms surround a beautiful garden with a fountain...a hidden treasure which proves perfect for summer parties and BBQ's.

Mullioned windows overlook a tranquil secret garden; chinoiserie clocks and old brocade enrich panelled rooms; sunlight floods through the stained glass to warm mahogany and gilt.
Yet for all its grandeur and tradition, as a venue, Merchant TaylorsÂ’ is right up to date. Our professional team has hosted events from award dinners to press conferences via fashion shows, barbecues and weddings.
Home to 7 rooms and our hidden treasure - the garden, Merchant TaylorsÂ’ should be at the forefront of your mind when organising an event. We can host from 10 people to over 600 people and the venue can also be hired exclusively.
Our resident catering team is one of our greatest strengths. Every event has its own unique flavour and our Head Chef tailors his fine cuisine to suit each one. His bespoke menus will enhance every occasion from drink receptions to fine dining.
Our Cellar Manager has an impressive list of wines and champagnes at his disposal and will make recommendations that will complement your menu.

We are located in the heart of the city in Threadneedle Street. Bank tube is a 2 minute walk away and Cannon Street and Liverpool Street Stations are a 10 minute walk.
