Imperial War Museum

Venue Description

This outstanding Grade II listed building set in nine acres of parkland is situated within walking distance of Waterloo International and mainline stations and only a short transfer from London Bridge and Victoria. Its proximity to both the City and Westminster make the Imperial War Museum a first-rate venue.

The striking Large Exhibits Gallery with its 70ft high glass domed ceiling can be hired for a wide range of evening events for up to 1,000 people. Six aircraft from the First and Second World Wars are suspended from the ceiling, with original tanks, rockets and submarines positioned on the ground floor. This dramatic and versatile space has played host to client receptions, charity balls and gala dinners film premières, fashion shows and product launches.

Guests also have access to the Museum's award winning exhibitions. The Secret War exhibition is perfect for Bond nights, whilst 1940s swing nights with a Glenn Miller style band really brings the venue alive. Character actors can be hired to complement themeing along with guided tours through the special exhibition galleries. The Museum's rich collection of art contains some of the century's best-known paintings, which guests can enjoy during a private drinks reception.

The Imperial War Museum has four meeting spaces available for hire during the daytime, including a conference room and cinema and two more traditional Georgian boardrooms. Guests have access to all galleries during their breaks and highlight tours can be booked for those on a tight schedule.
