Venue Event Security 2017

Terrorist incidents, which have occurred across Europe over the past 18 months are a stark reminder that crowded places are the preferred target of attacks.

Although these attacks are thankfully still a rarity in the UK, organisers and venues must accept that they operate on the front-line of a ‘severe’ threat level and should adopt increased behaviours that may prevent an attack or limit the potential damage.

On 8 June, 2017, the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) published new and updated guidance, intended to give protective security advice to those responsible for managing the security of crowded places.

With the launch of this new guidance, Venuefinder.com has decided to publish this free-to-download venue and event security report, to bring attention to the available NaCTSO resources and to remind everyone of the need to identify the ever-changing threats and vulnerabilities with every event tenancy.
