Woodland Grange appoints new General Manager

Make Venues Woodland Grange in Leamington Spa has appointed Mark Thurman as its new General Manager.

The announcement follows the successful launch of the group’s new brand Make Venues, and forms part of the management team’s ambitious plans for the business.

Mark brings with him a wealth of operations experience. He joins the team from the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield where he served most recently as its General Manager. Previous employers also include Hallmark Hotels and Q Hotels.

Thurman said: “I’m excited to join the venue at such a pivotal time. Woodland Grange has such an incredible reputation for high-quality service, an award-winning team, and a loyal and growing client base. It will be a privilege to help build on those foundations and help to lead the team into a new and exciting era for the business."

Lincoln's Inn opens for event hire

The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn is taking event bookings from next month.

Situated in the heart of central London, set in a tranquil, eleven-acre estate containing distinctive ‘old Legal London’ architecture, the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn offers a beautiful array of historic halls and contemporary meeting facilities.

The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn is the largest and oldest of the four Inns of Court, dating back to 1422. The eminent Great Hall, opened by Queen Victoria in 1845 and recently re-opened by Her Majesty the Queen following 36 months of renovation works, can host up to 250 guests for dinner or 400 for a reception.

The adjoining Bench Rooms behind the Great Hall can be hired for arrival receptions, providing a perfect opportunity for guests to meet and network before the main event.

For a slightly smaller affair, the impeccably preserved Old Hall, built in 1490, has an appealing Tudor grandeur, hosting events for up to 200 guests.
