What’s Hot this autumn
As summer fades and the nights start drawing in, here’s three hot venue offers to consider this autumn
The Green Britain Centre
The Green Britain Centre is a unique vegan conference venue and visitor centre, based in Norfolk. Throughout September, the venue is offering 10% off room hire, Monday to Friday, and 20% off for weekend hire. There’s nine rooms available, including a 110-capacity Theatre and an atrium, which seats 250. One of the most popular spaces is the Captain Paul Watson room, which can seat 100 delegates theatre-style or 80 cabaret-style.
During an event at The Green Britain Centre, delegates can also climb the venue’s windmill, visit a solar tracker to discover how it harnesses sun power to make electricity, experience Greenbird - the fastest wind powered vehicle in the world or take a stroll around the organic heirloom orchard.
Somerset House
Somerset House has launched three hire packages for its Winter ice rink, set against a 40-foot Christmas tree backdrop in the venue’s courtyard.
The first option includes exclusive private hire of the ice rink before it opens to the public.
Available from 9-14 November, this package allows 1,000 guests to use the ice rink throughout the day and also includes Ice Guides to help guests find their feet. Hire of the Portico Rooms and Navy Board Rooms, with balcony views over both the ice and the River Thames, are also included.
For event planners looking to hire the ice rink exclusively for shorter periods, the second package offers one-hour private hire for up to 200 guests. This can be booked in addition to hire of an event space once the ice rink is open and also includes Ice Guides.
The third package allows clients to take up to 80 tickets per public session for their guests to skate as a group. For larger parties, multiple slots can be booked throughout their event. This package is offered in conjunction with booking an event space at Somerset House.
Natural History Museum
Following the arrival of the blue whale skeleton to the
Natural History Museum’s Hintze Hall in July, the museum has now launched talks and tours packages.
Each talk, hosted by one of the venue’s world-class scientists, is charged at £500 + VAT for approximately 30 minutes, though times may vary and can be shortened or lengthened to suit any event format.
Subjects range from dinosaurs and fossils, creepy crawlies or humans and evolution, to conservation of national treasures and the museum’s work.
Event planners can also bring the museum’s incredible collections to life by combining a guided tour of the galleries with their event.
Each tour of the Dinosaurs, Treasures of the Earth or The Hall of Giants, for up to 25 guests is charged at £350 + VAT. They last for around 45 minutes. There is also the option to have two tours running simultaneously.
