The One Love Manchester concert, and the Emirates Old Trafford and Lancashire County Cricket Club team, were recognised at the prestigious global 2017 Stadium Business Awards, which were held at Croke Park on Thursday 22 June.

The Club picked up the Judges’ Choice Award for the delivery of the recent One Love Manchester benefit concert at Emirates Old Trafford on Sunday 4 June, alongside Manchester United Football Club at Old Trafford for their continued help and assistance.

The concert, which was held in memory of those affected by the attack in Manchester on Monday 22 May, raised more than £2.5 million and was viewed by over 14.5 million people on BBC Television, was staged at Emirates Old Trafford, with just over a week’s notice.

Lancashire County Cricket Club’s CEO, Daniel Gidney
, said: “This award is dedicated to everyone associated with the event from the artists, to the organisers, through to the people that attended on Sunday 4 July.

“We are proud to have won this award, which recognises everyone’s hard work to put on the biggest ever concert Emirates Old Trafford. To put on a 50,000 sell-out concert in five days was an incredible effort from all involved.

“We would also like to place on record our thanks to the promoters Live Nation and SJM, Trafford Council, the Police, Manchester United Football Club, and other relevant authorities for all their hard work that enabled the concert to go ahead
.

Gidney added, “Our thoughts remain with those that will always be affected by the events of Monday 22 May 2017.”

The judging panel commented: "Delivered in a true spirit of solidarity and professionalism, this concert – with so many headline artists – was delivered by the operations teams of two venues (Emirates Old Trafford & Manchester United Football Club) which decided to co-operate for the greater good of a city."

This is the second year running that the Club has been awarded a major award following on from last year’s Sales and Marketing Award for the pioneering work with US-based The Aspire Group last season which saw Lancashire incorporate a multi-year ticket marketing, sales and service (TiMSS) strategy into its sales plans for last summer’s international matches between England and Pakistan at Emirates Old Trafford.
