30 Euston Square calls for better allergy information gathering, the London Dungeon returns with its Lates package and Banqueting House offers Thursday daytime hire.

Organisers are exposing too many delegates to allergens says report

A survey conducted by 30 Euston Square, has revealed the need for more information to be gathered by organisers ahead of their events.

After surveying 131 organisers, the venue discovered that only 16% specifically asked for details of potentially life threatening allergies for their audiences.

“Our research shows that 84% of organisers need to be more specific with the information they gather from attendees. It demonstrates that the industry is not responding to the dangers of allergens and is putting delegates at risk,” said Yvette Chatwin, General Manager of 30 Euston Square. “In addition, venues and caterers prepare food based on the information they are provided. At 30 Euston Square we make every effort to respond to delegate needs and highlight the allergens in each of our dishes, however we must have the right information from the beginning.”

Despite already having robust allergen processes in place, 30 Euston Square has recently improved processes around the collection of allergy information, requiring organisers to gather in depth information on 14 allergies ahead of an event, to try and ensure no last-minute requests.

London Dungeon ‘Lates’ return for 2017

The popular Late evenings hosted by Merlin Events at the London Dungeon are back.

The after-work incentives for small teams of up to 40 guests combine theatre, special effects and storytelling with humour and plenty of shocks and surprises for a unique experience.

The tour begins in a Victorian Gin Palace where a complimentary Gin fizz is offered to lubricate the nerves prior to heading off into the dark London streets to discover Jack the Ripper.

Guests are encouraged to participate and can delve into a dressing up box to get into a bygone character as they pass from one show to the next. Plenty of other infamous characters abound including the demon barber of Fleet Street Mr Sweeney Todd and his paramour Mrs Lovett.

Arriving at the Ripper’s favourite haunt The Ten Bells in Whitechapel, another shot of Dutch courage is duly served up to further bolster the nerves. At the end of the tour, The Tavern awaits and guests can purchase further cockney cocktails before heading off into the night.

Dates for forthcoming London Dungeon Late events are: 21 April, 25 and 26 May, 9 June, 29 September, 29 October, 20-22 December.

Banqueting House to open for Thursday daytime hire

Banqueting House has announced a new daytime venue hire offer on any Thursday from September, excluding school holidays.

Commenting on the new daytime offer, Jennifer Lockham, Head of Banqueting House, said: “We are very excited to be able to announce daytime venue hire at Banqueting House. This is a great opportunity for us to increase both the number and scope of events we host at the venue. Evening awards ceremonies, drinks receptions and weddings are hugely popular at the venue and make up our core business, but with the new Thursday daytime offer, it means we are now able to diversify into new markets and can once again host events such as conferences, lunches and product launches. As with any event held at Banqueting House, income raised from activities including venue hire is reinvested in conservation and education activities, to ensure the venue is well maintained and open for all to enjoy.”
