Team-building and residential for talented young film-makers

Published: 21 Mar 2017

Lane End Conference Centre will welcome back the bright, young film-makers from the National Film and TV School (NFTS) in March and April this year, for the fifth year running. With over 300 applications a year to the academy, a stringent recruitment process, and only 66 places available, the NFTS attracts the best students, tutors and film-makers from around the globe, and is renowned for its Masters students, some of whom have gone on to major success in the film and television industries, winning Oscars and Baftas.

The NFTS will hold a pre-residential team-building day followed by a dinner on Saturday, 11th March, with the main residential event taking place from 9th to 20th April. The students attending the residential are at the beginning of their careers, and are already tasting success with short films, award wins at festivals and some securing work in the film industry with companies such as Disney, and on productions such as Star Wars.

Peter Fraser from the NFTS said; “Lane End has great facilities in beautiful grounds, with excellent food and attentive, helpful staff. The exclusive self-contained nature of the venue makes it an excellent space for us and it means that 66 participants can have their own rooms, which is important. With the state-of-the-art meeting rooms and break out relax zones, it means that we can give students space for evening planning. The venue’s Buckinghamshire location is perfect for us too – I honestly don’t know what we’d do without it!”

The NFTS will have exclusive use of Wycombe Hall at Lane End which offers bedroom accommodation, a private coffee lounge, restaurant, and a bar all contained within the same building. The large group of students will utilise Lane End’s extensive meeting and break-out facilities in the evenings to discuss projects and strategies, and in their spare time will have access to a five-a-side football pitch, volleyball, table tennis and the Cedar Club with its’ leisure facilities.

Heni Fourie, Sales & Marking Director at Lane End, said; "We are delighted to welcome back the NFTS once again to Lane End Conference Centre. We have made various improvements to our facilities since the last time they were with us, we hope that they like the changes that we have made!”

Lane End Conference Centre offers a unique modular design with five distinct and completely self-contained conference buildings – each offering bedrooms, meeting facilities, bar, lounge and dining room – available for exclusive use. For further information contact the sales team on 01494 881171
