Ronald McDonald House Manchester hosted its 7th Annual Charity Gala Dinner at
Emirates Old Trafford on Friday 18th November and raised £150,000 which will go towards the yearly running costs of over £800,000 so that they can continue to provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with a child in the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and St Mary’s Neonatal Unit.
The Gala Dinner took place in The Point, Emirates Old Trafford’s most flexible and multipurpose events space and had some fantastic acts on the evening including fire breathers, aerial artists, dancers and a fabulous band to keep guests entertained.
Over 600 people were in attendance including Emmerdale’s very own
Kelvin Fletcher plus Directors and owners from companies such as McCain and McDonalds who also donated raffle prizes on the evening. Speakers on the night were from some very special families who shared some moving stories of how the charity had helped them and how grateful they were to Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Independent Charity that runs the facility in Manchester, and its volunteers and partners.
Head of Venue Sales, Angela Hodson said, “
It was fantastic to have such a wonderful event here at Emirates Old Trafford and for such a worthy cause. The event went really well and we hope to welcome them back to Emirates Old Trafford in the near future”.

One attendee at the event commented: “
It was a complete honour and a pleasure to attend the dinner and I know what a lifesaver the Ronald McDonald House is to families of poorly children up and down the country. The event ran seamlessly, and you could tell that the organisers and Emirates Old Trafford had worked above and beyond to ensure the smooth running of the night.
As an independent charity, they rely on the support and generosity of their volunteers, fundraisers and donors, and thanks to their tireless efforts the Houses are able to help over 7,000 families each year. Thanks to the £150,000 raised on the night the charity will be able to provide 6,000 nights of free accommodation to those families.
Alice from Manchester House on behalf of the Ronald McDonald House Charities said, “
We’d like to thank Emirates Old Trafford for supporting our 7th Gala Dinner. We were absolutely blown away by the support shown on the evening and are delighted to say that overall we raised a staggering £150,000 which will help so many families who need our support.
The event was our most successful dinner to date and we’re truly grateful for the part Emirates Old Trafford played in helping us reach this amazing total. Through the money raised from the auction item provided by Emirates Old Trafford, we are able to provide 54 nights of free accommodation to families with a child in hospital. Thank you so much for all your help with organising – we had such great feedback about the venue and it could not have gone better!!
