TIC Telford, invests £395,000 in new semi-fixed auditorium

Published: 06 Dec 2016

The International Centre, Telford, the privately owned conference and exhibition centre situated in the Midlands, has invested £395,000 to create a state-of-the-art auditorium.

The new tiered theatre has been installed in one of the largest event suites at The International Centre and has the capacity to host up to 1,450 delegates.

The auditorium seating unit is retractable, enabling complete flexibility for a variety of event formats including the option to have a ready-to-go auditorium and the potential to convert day theatre space to an evening cabaret gala dinner.

The new auditorium will also have built-in audio visual production systems, a high-definition projector, advanced full line array sound system and LED lighting with control desks; a significant investment to ensure events are fully supported by the very latest technology.

Tom Gray, Chief Executive of The International Centre, Telford comments: “Our aim at The International Centre has always been to keep our space simple so it can flex to meet the needs and imagination of Event Organisers.

“However, for our association and corporate markets we saw the potential to further enhance our Ironbridge Suite to offer comprehensive plenary packages to include production as well as a, ‘click and play’ option for quick turnaround events; those which require minimal rehearsal. Our business purpose with this development is, not only to yield the space well, but also to enhance the number of event options the suite can offer.

Clients of The International Centre, Telford, have welcomed news of the new auditorium. Sammy Williams, Relationship and Business Manager for UK Stroke Forum adds: “We are looking forward to hosting our 2018 and 2019 events at The International Centre, Telford. The new auditorium is a fantastic addition to the venue and this, alongside the existing facilities, offers the flexibility we need to deliver our main plenary sessions along with multiple seminars and training workshops.”

The Ironbridge Suite Auditorium will be open for full use from December 2016.
