A new stunning multi-million-pound conference facility with panoramic
views of the South West’s most historic city has been officially opened at
Bath Racecourse.
The
Langridge Stand, which officially opened today (July 20), provides
a unique location for meetings and conferences being held in the city, and will
significantly increase business events taking place at
Bath Racecourse.
One of the UK’s biggest brands –
Marks and Spencer - is amongst the
first to take advantage of the facilities having already confirmed a booking at
the venue.
The main conference and events space within the
Langridge Stand is the
Royal Crescent Suite, which has a capacity for up to 300 people theatre style
and benefits from natural daylight and a large, private roof garden, which can
be used as a break out space. The
Roof Garden is the perfect al fresco
experience - an exclusive area overlooking the finishing line and complete with
balcony and unrivalled trackside viewing providing a unique setting where
guests can enjoy the panoramic skyline views over the track and city.
The
Royal Crescent suite and roof garden are also outstanding settings
for gala dinners and weddings. In addition to the new space, event organisers
can take advantage of nine further suites available in the
Kelston Hospitality
Stand.
The opening of The
Langridge Stand will place the
Bath Racecourse at
the forefront of business events in the city and marks the last phase in the
redevelopment of the historic racecourse.
Jo Hall, Executive Director of Bath Racecourse, comments: “
The opening
of the Langridge Stand is an exciting time for us and heralds a new era for
business events at Bath Racecourse. Whilst the stand has been built to
accommodate our racing business, there has been a real focus on delivering
conferences and events, providing us with a great opportunity for us to grow
non-race day business. Over the next three years we are looking to double the
number of non-race day events, and with a clear focus in these key areas we
believe this will be achievable. We’ve already received a lot of interest in
the new facilities from event bookers as well as a number of confirmed
bookings. The roof garden in particular has captured the imagination of people
who can see the benefits of such a spectacular setting.
“Not only does the Langridge Stand meet
the demand for conference facilities at the Racecourse but it also meets a
growing need for large scale event facilities in the city of Bath. The new
business facilities at the Racecourse and the new stand will allow us to
accommodate bigger events, attracting even more business to the city. It’s a really
exciting time for the Racecourse and we’re looking forward to delivering
successful events for corporate clients. With such a stunning backdrop, any
event held here – whether it is a meeting, banquet or wedding, will be
memorable.”
The redevelopment of
Bath Racecourse was funded by its
owners,
Arena Racing Company - the largest group of racecourses in the UK. The
Langridge Stand was designed by D5 Architects and constructed by
The Design
Works Group.
