Lane End go above and beyond to deliver Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium’s event excellence

Lane End Conference Centre has received a glowing report following the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium’s (OCAC) recent event at the Buckinghamshire-based venue.

OCAC is an international collaboration that involves 76 genetic epidemiology studies with a main goal of identifying genetic loci that affect the risk of ovarian cancer. The group meets once a year to discuss research results, plan future studies and grant applications. The most recent of these events was held in The Pavilion, the recently refurbished venue at Lane End.

“The idyllic English countryside setting where Lane End is based, along with the fantastic venue itself, met all the requirements we needed for what is such an important event in our calendar,” said Margie Riggan, Project Manager at the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium. “The team at Lane End went above and beyond for the event including developing a solution so our guests could book and pay online – something that was created for us to overcome that particular challenge. As well as the online booking tool we were treated to a lovely private dinner which ended our time at Lane End in real style. The subject matter of our event is clearly very important but Lane End did a great job making it stress free and something quite special.”

OCAC, who welcomed guests from the United States, Europe and further afar, chose Lane End due to its close proximity to Heathrow airport as well as the benefits that the recent £200,000 refurbishment of The Pavilion could bring to its event. The Pavilion’s surroundings provided a private but relaxed environment whilst Lane End adapted its online booking tool taking away the pressure of managing delegate bookings from the client.

“Margie’s words are very kind but, in truth, we love hosting events such as this because we know how important their work is on an international level,” commented Heni Fourie, Director of Sales and Marketing at Lane End Conference Centre. “The Pavilion was able to meet the needs they required for privacy whilst the setting here was a clear positive for those attending. The feedback we have received is fantastic and the fact that OCAC has hinted they would like to use Lane End again the next time they come to England is welcome news.”

Lane End Conference Centre offers a unique modular design with five distinct and completely self-contained conference buildings – each offering bedrooms, meeting facilities, bar, lounge and dining room – available for exclusive use. For further information contact the sales team on 01494 881171.
