Five hotel openings to get excited about for the year ahead

Nobu Hotel, London
The best known sushi chef Nobu Matsuhisa, is due to open his debut European hotel in London this year. Located on Willow Street in Shoreditch, the five-storey Nobu Hotel will boast 156 bedrooms, a basement restaurant and bar, landscaped gardens, banqueting and meeting rooms.
The angular glass design will feature concrete balconies and steel beams.

Ten Trinity Square, London
Ten Trinity Square was originally the headquarters of the Port of London Authority and is an iconic City of London landmark. It is being transformed into a Four Seasons hotel, due to open at the end of the year.
The hotel - the third Four Seasons Hotel London (adding to the two existing hotels at Park Lane and Canary Wharf) - occupies the lower ground to the third levels, with 100 guest rooms and suites, French and Asian restaurants, a Rotunda Lounge, meeting spaces and a spa.

Hotel Eden, Rome
The Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Eden in Rome closed for renovations on 1 November but will re-open this autumn. The refurbishment has reduced what were 121 accommodations down to 99 spacious rooms and suites with enhanced views of the Eternal City and St. Peter’s Basilica.
Famed for its rooftop restaurant, Hotel Eden’s Michelin-starred La Terrazza dell’Eden is also undergoing renovation, along with the lobby and sixth-floor bar.
Hotel Eden will also introduce a new urban spa featuring spa suites and a blow-dry bar.

New York Downtown, NYC
By June—one block from the World Trade Centre—the Four Seasons New York Downtown will be a welcome addition to Lower Manhattan. It will occupy the first 24 floors of one New York’s tallest residential towers and boasts 185 guest rooms, a modern spa facility, an indoor pool, and Wolfgang Puck’s first NYC outpost for his well-known CUT steakhouse.

Edition, Abu Dhabi
The Ian Schrager and Marriott International-owned Edition brand will debut in the Middle East within the Abu Dhabi Marina development, located in the Marina Al Bateen area.
Set to open in the third quarter of 2016, the 200-room and 57 serviced-apartment hospitality project will sit alongside cafes, restaurants and entertainment offerings.
A second Edition for the UAE is then planned for Dubai in 2018.
