Significant exhibitor growth leads to increase in The Meetings Show’s sales team

Due to a significant increase in demand, The Meetings Show has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Abigail Fletcher. The move comes as The Meetings Show looks to benefits from growing sales amongst new and returning exhibitors ahead of the 2015 show, which will be held at Olympia, London, from 7-9 July.

Abigail took up her role at the beginning of January to bring new exhibitors, particularly from the technology sector to the show. Her role capitalises on the fact that many exhibitors are committing due to The Meetings Show’s focus on the delivery of UK buyers as well as the success of the 2014 show, which saw a 67% increase in hosted buyers.

Before joining The Meetings Show, Abigail was a key account co-ordinator at Reed Exhibitions where she worked across 23 separate travel shows as part of a team managing 13 major clients including leading hotel chains and destinations.

Abigail comments: "It’s an exciting time to be joining The Meetings Show. The show offers a fast growing and dynamic place to work amongst a team of meetings industry experts. I am looking forward to using the knowledge I have gained working on similar shows to develop The Meetings Show’s exhibitor offering and ensure it remains the UK’s premiere show for the meetings industry.”

Gordon Kirk, commercial director at The Meetings Show, comments: “2015 is set to be the biggest show to date. We have already seen significant growth across both the domestic and international sides of the show and we expect this to continue with the addition of Abigail to the team. She brings the perfect balance of industry experience and energy and we look forward to the impact she will have over the coming months as we bring together the UK’s most comprehensive list of meetings industry focused exhibitors.”

The Meetings Show is the must attend event for the UK inbound and outbound meetings industry, organised by Centaur Exhibitions and taking place 7-9 July 2015 at Olympia, London. Organised by meeting professionals for meeting professionals it is focused around a large exhibition, networking opportunities and professional education.
