New marketing manager at The Meetings Show to focus on delivery of UK visitors and buyers




As part of the ongoing strategy to increase UK buyers at The Meetings Show 2015, Centaur Exhibitions has appointed Sam Chance as Marketing Manager.

Sam’s role is focused purely on the promotion and subsequent delivery of visitors and buyers, particularly from the UK, to the show next year,” comments Steve Knight, Event Director of The Meetings Show. “Sam brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the role and we look forward to seeing his impact in a very measurable way next July.”

Sam will oversee all elements of The Meetings Show’s marketing and communications activity, including traditional, digital and partnership marketing channels. This has already included a focus on the launch of a new website for the show. Sam joins The Meetings Show having had experience with Reed Exhibitions, where he gained an understanding of working on a hosted buyer model through its travel portfolio.

“The Meetings Show is continuing to go from strength to strength, now is the perfect time to join a winning team at the forefront of the UK industry. My role is tightly focused and I relish the impact it will have on the 2015 show,” says Sam Chance.

Organised by meeting professionals for meeting professionals it is focused around a large exhibition, networking opportunities and professional education. The hosted buyer programme – the largest in the UK – will attract buyers from the corporate, association, agency and public sectors. The Meetings Show team is headed up by Event Director Steve Knight – a well known and highly respected figure within the meetings industry.

The Show includes:

• The Exhibition: Featuring destinations, venues, hotels and suppliers, the exhibition sits at the heart of The Meetings Show.
• The Conference: Planned by education experts from across the industry, the conference will be timed so that the sessions work in harmony with the exhibition and in excess of 10,000 meetings taking place on the floor. The full programme will be unveiled nearer the show but will include topics such as ROI of meetings, strategic meetings management, economic impact, meetings architecture, hybrid meetings, association management, destination marketing and industry trends.
• Networking: All five nights of the show, starting on Sunday 5th July will feature networking events across London’s latest and most exciting venues. For those looking to see more after the show has closed there will also be fam trips visiting key regional destinations around the UK.
• Association Conference: For meeting organisers in the association sector, an association conference on Monday 6th July is a must attend opportunity to learn, meet and network with peers.
