Jamian Lewis is a professional chef with over 20 years’ experience. His training included periods in several hotels including the Café Royale. Later, he worked for Browns Restaurants and successfully worked his way up to become Head Chef of their Mayfair restaurant at just 24. He worked all over the country for their opening team and went on to operate 4 other restaurants.
In 2008, Jamian joined the conference venue industry and in 2011 he was the first British professional chef to win the much coveted international IACC (International Association of Conference Centres) Copper Skillet Award. This award has never previously or since been won by any chef from the UK. The finals were held at the IACC Annual Conference in Virginia, USA and Jamian was judged best conference centre chef against seven other ‘Champion Chefs’ from around the world.
Jamian’s most recent post was Head Chef for the social enterprise restaurant, Brigade. Here his team took on apprentices who have been at risk or have experienced homelessness giving them valuable training and opportunity through this programme.
During Jamian’s career he has also been fortunate enough to work with some great people and featured in television programmes including Masterchef, Young Cooks and the current series of The Apprentice.
Creating dishes, cooking good food and developing people are his passion. As well as running the catering operation at CCT Venues Plus-Bank Street, Jamian has a brief across the whole of CCT Venues to apply his talent and flair throughout the business. Jamian has already started to make changes and has plenty of ideas soon to be launched. 2015 promises to be a great year for food at CCT Venues.
