St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel launches The Cellar Room in association with Laurent-Perrier June 2014: Know your wines but want to brush up on your bubbles? Those looking to learn the difference between their cuvees, bruts, vintages and rosés should check out The Cellar Room, opening this month at St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel in association with Laurent-Perrier Champagne. Here guests will be able to taste the full range of Laurent-Perrier champagnes in the luxury of this new and exclusive annexe to The Hamptons Bar.
Inspired by the six miles of chalk cellars that lie below the Laurent-Perrier estate in Tours-sur-Marne, France, The Cellar Room will provide the perfect atmosphere to experience some of the world’s most respected champagnes. The Cellar Room will stock seven varieties of champagne, from the Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut to the rare Alexandra Rosé 2004, Laurent-Perrier meaning there is a glass to suit every taste and occasion; from champagne lovers looking for a quiet corner to indulge to groups wishing to hire the room for an exclusive tasting.
Adorning the room are images of the Domaine Laurent-Perrier, transporting guests to the heartland of Champagne, from the darkened cellar, to the antique bottles discovered behind a wall that formed the design of the Alexandra Rosé bottle. Guests can learn about the Cellar Riddler – who turns 60,000 bottles a day. With a guide to each of the champagne varieties demistifyed by an expert team trained by Laurent - Perrier, novices and connoisseurs alike are sure to learn something new about fizz from The Cellar Room. New Champagne Flight Experience – Introductory price, £20 per person St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel is celebrating this launch with The Cellar Room Champagne Flight, where guest can try a flight of three Laurent-Perrier champagne tasters, each perfectly paired with a canapés. Laurent-Perrier Brut is complimented with a Scottish scallop and avocado tartare, the Cuvée Rosé with prawn and smoke salmon en paupiette and the Laurent-Perrier Vintage 2004 with a summer asparagus ratatouille crostini. The Cellar Room Champagne Flight is being launched at a fabulous introductory price of £20 per person for the three champagne tasters and the complimentary canapés, and is available every day.
