Park Hyatt New York to open imminently following $390m takeover
Hyatt Hotels has taken over the soon-to-open Park Hyatt New York in a deal worth $390m.
The hotel features 210 rooms, including 92 premier suites, all with floor-to-ceiling windows and is nestled within the first 25 floors of the iconic, 90-story One57 skyscraper, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Christian de Portzamparc.
At 475sqft, the standard rooms at Park Hyatt New York will be among the largest in New York City and the majority of deluxe rooms will span 530sqft.
Executive Chef Sam Hazen will lead Park Hyatt New York’s culinary operations, consisting of dining experiences in The Living Room and events spaces.
The hotel’s ballroom features illuminated white onyx walls and soaring heights. It’s large enough to host a seated dinner for 220 or a standing reception for 450. Additionally, Park Hyatt New York will include spacious meeting spaces and an Executive Boardroom with an exclusive outdoor terrace.
The hotel’s spa, Spa Nalai, will feature six all-inclusive treatment suites as well as a private outdoor balconies.
Situated between 6th and 7th Avenues on West 57th Street in Manhattan, the hotel, which is due to open by the end of August, will benefit from its prime location within walking distance from Central Park, as well as its position across from the historic Carnegie Hall.
Shangri-La opens Tianjin conference hotel
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has opened a 302-room hotel in China's largest northern port city and bustling business destination, Tianjin.
The 302-room Shangri-La Hotel Tianjin is located within the Tianjin Kerry Centre, connected to a shopping mall and provides 1,965sqm of pillar-less meetings and events space for conferences up to 1,800 delegates.
Spacious rooms range from one of the largest deluxe rooms in the city, the 48sqm Deluxe River Room to the 240sqm Shangri-La Suite. In addition to its guest rooms, the hotel offers 39 serviced apartments. All guest rooms overlook the Haihe River and the executive Club Lounge on Level 32 offers panoramic views over the city. Complementary wifi is available throughout the hotel.
Rosewood set for October Chinese debut
Rosewood Beijing, the first China hotel for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will open mid-October.
This ultra-luxurious property is in a downtown location and has been designed to reflect a private mansion haven in the bustling city.
Meetings and function space, totaling 3,350sqm, will include a pillar-less ballroom and The Pavilion residential-style event venue.
The hotel will feature six restaurants and lounges including Bistrot B and Bistrot Lounge and Bar, Red Bowl stylish hot pot restaurant, Mei bar, Country Kitchen and House of Dynasties Chinese restaurants. The first Rosewood Sense spa in Asia will feature an indoor swimming pool, gym and yoga studio.
