Heritage Motor Centre hosts Government Manufacturing Summit
The Heritage Motor Centre hosted the annual Government Manufacturing Summit on Thursday 28 February attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and business secretary Vince Cable. Here they announced that a total of £213m will be invested by the government and industry to strengthen UK advanced manufacturing supply chains, which is expected to create more than 11,000 jobs and safeguard 5,000 more. Over 250 senior leaders from leading national and local manufacturing companies,senior ministers, officials and selected media attended the event.
Stephen Laing, Curator at the HMC gave Nick Clegg a personal tour of the Museum, home to the world's largest historic collection of British cars. Clegg and Cable were also given a tour of the Warwickshire headquarters of Aston Martin.
The HMC was chosen to host the Summit due to its accessible location just off junction 12 of the M40 and its proximity to the headquarters of Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover. The award winning, high-profile, unique contemporary venue offers up-to-date technology and versatility to suit any event including conferences, exhibitions, events, product launches and gala dinners. The Summit meeting was held in the Conference and Exhibition Suite, the seminar’s held in Lecture rooms 1, 2 and 3 and the manufacturing exhibition was held on the Exhibition Gallery. local company, Showman Event Support.
