Following Highgate House's Head Chef, Lee Gaskins, being crowned ‘Chef of the Year' at the most recent prestigious Carlsberg UK Food & Drink awards, Northamptonshire conference hotel Highgate House is now the proud employer of the awards' Young Chef of the Year - Leighanne Harrison - too!
Head Chef Lee Gaskins is thrilled to have the ‘Young Chef of the Year' amongst his team in the kitchen at Midlands meeting venue, Highgate House, "It is fantastic that we have such a strong team in the kitchen at Highgate House, I am really excited by the new talent and about us all working together to launch the brand new seasonal menu for The Terrace Restaurant."
Award-winner Leighanne Harrison is delighted to be a part of Lee's team, "When I first arrived at Highgate House I loved the place, the staff are all so friendly and I'm really enjoying following my passion. I love the thrill of the adrenaline rush in the kitchen and turning simple ingredients into something great."
When Leighanne was named ‘Young Chef of the Year' at the latest Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards she was stunned, saying, "I couldn't believe it when my name was announced and my legs turned to jelly when I got up to collect my trophy! I've won two bronze medals and a silver in the UK World Skills competition for my silver service but this is my first award for my cooking - and it's amazing!"
